PATRIA NOSTRA Award 2020

Family business of CECHO – Bohumil Cempírek, s.r.o. from Polnička received PATRIA NOSTRA 2020 award for exemplary care in creating the conditions for the regional industry, crafts and trade.

The Patria Nostra Award is presented for an exemplary investment and architectural deed that contributes to rural development and to meeting the needs of the residents and visitors to the individual regions of the Czech Republic, carried out between 1990 and 2020. The award was initiated by the Prague Castle Administration and the Czech Architecture Week. This year, the latter company introduced a new national programme, Our Countryside 1990-2020,which pays tribute to all the people who have helped maintain, but above all develop the countryside in the past thirty years when it was often complicated to find new ways.

The opening ceremony that took place in the Spanish Hall of the Prague Castle on 8 October 2020, however, happened without the presence of the awarders and the award winners, as well as without any of the prepared performances by choirs, music and dance ensembles from various regions. Due to Covid-19, the organisers had to divide the ceremony into several events between the Office of the President, the ministries, mayor headquarters and archbishoprics.

In the Vysočina Region, the family business of CECHO – Bohumil Cempírek, s.r.o. from Polnička received this extraordinary award. The Company is celebrating 25 years of existence this year. The PATRIA NOSTRA 2020 award by the Minister of Industry and Trade, Doc. Ing. Karel Havlíček, Ph.D., MBA, for exemplary care in creating the conditions for the regional industry, crafts and trade in the evaluated time period in rural development between 1990 and 2020, was presented to CECHO for the construction of their new corporate headquarters in Polnička. The building documentation of the office building and the operating hall, which opened in 2014, was prepared by the design office of SANTIS Žďár nad Sázavou, under the supervision of architect Ing. Arch. Martin Zezula, and the construction with a sensitive setting into the natural environment at the edge of the village was implemented by A+Š Stavby Žďár nad Sázavou. The CECHO premises have also obtained the Honourable Mention of the Vysočina Region Mayor as the Building of the Year, and the Company has also won the regional round of the “Family-Friendly Business” competition.

Minister Karel Havlíček personally presented the PATRIA NOSTRA 2020 award to the representatives of the family business, Mr. Bohumil Cempírek and his son Bohumil Cempírek Jr. at the Ministry of Industry and Trade in Prague on 13 October. Stanislav Šmerda from A+Š Stavby and Ing. Zdeněk Tulis from the SANTIS design office were also present. Jiří Adamec made a film document about the presentation of the awards.
